ZCWD 36 hours Water Interruption extended

The imposition of the 36 hours water interruption starting July 19 – 20, 2017 is extended till Saturday morning of July 22, 2017.

Inter-connection of injection points at Pamucutan, Upper Calarian, Suterville and San Jose Gusu experienced issues on the disinfection of the lines.

According to Engr. Teotimo C. Reyes, Jr., Production Department Manager, completion of works will undergo three phrases: 1. Interconnection, 2. Flushing and 3. Disinfection.

“To ensure that the quality of water surpass the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW), every now and then, quality check on the water passing through the lines have to be conducted and it will take another day for the build- up of water and volume to conduct the test” Engr. Reyes added.

Affected areas Pamucutan, Talisayan, Cawit, Maasin, Sinunuc, Tulungatung, Malagutay, Upper Calarian, Lower Calarian, Cabatangan, San Roque, Suterville, Baliwasan Grande, Baliwasan Tabuk, San Jose Gusu, Baliwasan Seaside, Campo, Baliwasan Chico, Ayala and Recodo will experience low pressure to no water will ensure water delivery by ZCWD.

Thus, customers in the affected areas are advised to store water in clean and sealed containers to prevent contamination, upon resumption of service, expect turbid (“malubog”) water as sediments in the residential house plumbing system are dislodged and to check plumbing system for possible leaks due to increased water pressure.

Water service will resume immediately upon completion of works and customers will expect a steady supply of water in the affected areas.
