ZCWD Joins 2nd Quarter Nationwide Earthquake Drill

In line with its commitment to disaster preparedness and public safety, the Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on June 19, 2025. The drill was simultaneously conducted across ZCWD offices, including the Main Office in Pilar Street, the Old Reservoir, Water Treatment Plant, and Motorpool in Pasonanca. At exactly 9:00 AM, employees executed the “duck, cover, and hold” procedure, followed by an orderly evacuation to designated assembly areas.

The drill was facilitated by the ZCWD Occupational Safety Health Committee headed by Chairperson Engr. Rowvette James T. Ruiz in alignment with the national directives of disaster preparedness and in coordination with the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee with the Officer-In-Charge, ZCWD Assistant General Manager for Administration Group Engr. Marli P. Acosta – De Fiesta.

Through the leadership of General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin, ZCWD continues to uphold a strong culture of work safety, preparedness, and organizational resilience in support of national disaster response initiatives.
