ZCWD Honored with Platinum for Life-Saving Contributions at 2025 Blood Donors’ Recognition Ceremony

The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) was bestowed with the prestigious Blood Services Platinum Award by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Zamboanga City Chapter during a heartfelt Blood Donors’ Recognition Ceremony held on July 30, 2025 at the Atrium East Wing, KCC Mall de Zamboanga. The award acknowledges ZCWD’s exceptional and consistent support for the PRC’s voluntary blood donation programs, significantly contributing to the city’s life-saving blood supply.
The ceremony, attended by dedicated blood donors, partner organizations, and local officials, served as a platform to express gratitude for the selfless acts that save countless lives. The Philippine Red Cross highlighted the critical role of regular blood donations in maintaining a stable and accessible blood bank, essential for emergencies, medical procedures, and the treatment of various illnesses.

Human Resource Department Officer In-Charge, Mariam Suzette A. Sahi-Sahijuan, and Personnel Welfare Division Officer In-Charge, Sundae Grace P. Najar, accepted the award on behalf of the District.

The Blood Services Platinum Award is the highest recognition given by the Philippine Red Cross to organizations that demonstrate exemplary dedication to promoting and facilitating voluntary blood donations. ZCWD’s consistent efforts, which include organizing regular bloodletting activities among its employees and raising awareness within the community, have made a significant difference in boosting the local blood reserves.

The recognition ceremony also honored individual blood donors who have consistently contributed to the blood bank, underscoring the vital role each donor plays in the health and well-being of the community.
