ZCWD Completes Water System Improvement Project in Guisao Interior, Enhancing Local Water Supply
The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) has successfully completed the Construction, Rehabilitation, and Improvement of the Water System at Guisao Interior, a key infrastructure initiative aimed at improving water availability and service reliability for residents in the area.
The project began on October 16, 2014 and was completed on January 31, 2015. As part of the improvement works, a total of 3,075 linear meters of 100-millimeter diameter PVC pipes were laid to strengthen the water distribution network within the community.
With the project now completed, an estimated 150 to 200 households in Guisao Interior are benefiting from improved and more reliable water service. The upgraded system serves the area from the Guisao–Tolosa junction to the Guisao–Cacao–Catumbal junction.
ZCWD noted that the project is especially critical as neighboring barangays are unable to accommodate or supply water to the area, making the improved Guisao Interior water system the primary source of potable water for the community.
This project reflects ZCWD’s ongoing commitment to improving water infrastructure and ensuring consistent and dependable water services for communities throughout Zamboanga City. (photos by Technical Services Group).
