April 17, 2026 – As part of the Zamboanga City Water District’s (ZCWD) 52nd anniversary celebration, ZCWD, through its Legal Department, Commercial Services Department, and Community Relations and External Affairs Section, conducted a “Community Service Day” at Barangay Vitali. The activity was held in partnership with the Department of Health – Regional Office IX, through Labuan General Hospital.
Residents of the community and nearby barangays availed themselves of free legal aid services, medical consultations, and assistance with water service applications.
Demonstrating strong institutional support, ZCWD Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration Group, Atty. Mark Allen M. Paredes, personally assisted residents at the Legal Aid Clinic. He was joined by fellow lawyers from the Water District, namely: Atty. Lovell C. Abad, Legal Department Manager; Atty. Rina S. Bendaño, Officer-in-Charge of the Legal Services Division; Atty. Ekeena O. Lim, Officer-in-Charge of the Internal Audit Division; and Atty. Vramie L. Patalinghug of the Service Application Section—ensuring efficient and responsive service delivery throughout the activity.
Meanwhile, Commercial Services Department Manager Sofronio Santos and his team effectively assisted participating residents with their water service application concerns.
In addition, representatives from the Department of Health – Regional Office IX provided free medical consultations, further promoting the health and well-being of the community.
In recognition of his invaluable support and coordination, ZCWD presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Barangay Vitali Punong Barangay, Hon. Regalado G. Marquez, whose efforts contributed significantly to the success of the event.
The day wrapped up with a renewed sense of purpose, as ZCWD underscored its commitment to delivering dependable water services and dynamic community programs that champion health, well-being, and environmental care. Events like Community Service Day deepen ZCWD’s bonds with the people it serves, weaving progress and public service together on the path to a brighter, more sustainable future.
