April 28, 2026 – The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) has completed the transfer of water meters at the entrance of Purok 9, Highland Village, Calarian, in response to Resolution No. 2202 endorsed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod through City Councilor Atty. Vladimir T. Jimenez.
The request, submitted on February 24, 2026, aimed to facilitate the opening of a road right-of-way. ZCWD promptly carried out the required technical and administrative steps to ensure the smooth relocation of the water meters.
The Operations Group, led by Assistant General Manager Michael Angelo M. Carbon completed the transfer and all necessary adjustments in line with existing policies and operational standards.The transfer was carried out by the Pipelines and Leakages Control Division (PLCD) under the Pipelines and Appurtenances Maintenance Department (PAMD) led by Engr. Alex A. Acosta.
The transfer was officially completed on April 20, 2026, ensuring reliable water service for residents and supporting community infrastructure development. This initiative has paved the way for smoother vehicular and pedestrian movement, addressing longstanding accessibility concerns for Purok 9, Highland Village. Residents expressed appreciation for the collaboration between local authorities and ZCWD, citing the positive impact on daily commutes and emergency access. The improved road access is expected to boost economic activity and enhance the overall quality of life in the area.
ZCWD, under the leadership of Acting General Manager Louella A. Aguilera, remains committed to responsive public service, aligning its operations with community needs while upholding efficiency, safety, and sustainability across all its projects.
