APRIL 1, 2024 – The Zamboanga City Water District celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Astoria Regency. During this event, a thanksgiving mass was held, and the main program followed right after. Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Administration Louella A. Aguilera welcomed the distinguished guests who attended the momentous event such as former members of the Board of Directors, General Managers, and Assistant General Managers of the ZCWD and fellow stakeholders of the organization. Acting General Manager (AcGM) Reynaldo R. Cabilin delivered his opening remarks, highlighting the impact that the organization has made in the past 5 decades for the people of Zamboanga. This was further highlighted during the message from the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Ernesto F. Ubando, Jr. Atty. Mark Allen M. Paredes, AGM for the Finance Group introduced the Keynote Speaker, Atty. Jose Moises Salonga, Administrator for the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), where he extends his congratulations and commends the ZCWD in a video message.
Various local government officials also delivered messages for the ZCWD. Hon. John M. Dalipe, City Mayor of Zamboanga commended the organization for its continued service in providing clean & potable water for the people of Zamboanga City, and together with District 1 Congressional Representative Hon. Khymer Adan T. Olaso gave their messages of support for the district.
OIC AGM for Operations Group Mr. Michael Angelo M. Carbon formally unveiled the ZCWD Institutional Advertisment to the attendees, showcasing the culmination of the past 5 decades of service that the district has conducted for Zamboanga City.
During this ceremony, a total of 98 awardees were recognized during the Awards Ceremony, consisting of 7 ZCWD Awardees for their continued years of service reaching from 25 years to 35 years. These exemplary individuals were awarded certificates commemorating this achievement along with a special token. This was followed by the recognition of 37 Awardees in Government Service, 38 Job Orders, and 16 Retirees, all of whom had received a certificate to commemorate their service for the ZCWD.
Engr. Marli Acosta-De Fiesta, AGM for Technical Services Group, delivered the closing remarks, before the attendees celebrated on with the night as they are serenaded by the ZCWD Band.
The ZCWD expresses its thanks to the various stakeholders who have contributed to the success of this special event. And to the ZCWD staff for their hardwork and dedication in service for the people of Zamboanga.
