Zamboanga City Mayor John M. Dalipe and Majority Floor Leader Congressman Jose Manuel โMannixโ M. Dalipe led the ceremonial commissioning of the San Lorenzo Production Well this morning, May 19, 2024.
The fully operational production well, which first came online in 1998 and was decommissioned in July 2020, is projected to serve 927 households in the area, specifically Brgy. Tetuan: from Candido St. to the Crispin Atilano St. junction with Toribio Street, including Unknown Road (Atilano Extension St.). This will increase water pressure by 2 up to 4 PSI and extend the operation time at the Talon-Talon Booster by about 2 hours. The well has a rated monthly production of 1.08 million liters per day (MLD), with a discharge rate of 12.78 liters per second (185 gallons per minute).
Joining the ceremony were the ZCWD Board of Directors, including Board Chairperson Ernesto F. Ubando, Jr., Board Vice-Chairperson Atty. John Paul S. Pagteilan, Board Secretary John Frederick P. Ruiz, ZCWD General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin, and OIC-Assistant General Manager for Operations Group Michael Angelo M. Carbon.
Also present during the event were City Councilors Al-Jihan R. Edding, Jimmy B. Villaflores, and Vincent Paul A. Elago.
With the support of Mayor John Dalipe and Congressman Mannix Dalipe, the ZCWD Board of Directors have commissioned five (5) production wells to date to mitigate the effects of El Niรฑo. The most recent additions include the Ayala PW, Tulungatung PW, Baliwasan PW, and Governor Ramos PW bringing the total number of operational production wells to 17.
