JUNE 20, 2024 – In a Press Conference organized by the Zamboanga City Public Information Office at City Hall earlier today, the Zamboanga City Water District Officer-in-Charge, Michael Angelo M. Carbon, provided updates on the city’s water supply systems and addressed ongoing issues. At the end of his presentation, he announced that by the end of June, the ZCWD would conduct a thorough assessment of the water supply situation. The results will determine the feasibility of lifting the current water rationing schedule and will be submitted to the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO).
An open forum allowed media representatives to voice concerns about water quality, production status, and plans for the ZCWD. ZCWD-OIC Carbon assured that the water quality undergoes regular testing to meet the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water before distribution. He emphasized that the ZCWD, with the support of the Board of Directors with Chairperson Ernesto F. Ubando, Jr., and General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin, is actively collaborating with the local government and private organizations to enhance the water supply situation in Zamboanga City.
