Phoenix Gas Station at Gov. Alvarez St.

Representing the Zamboanga City Local Government Unit during the groundbreaking ceremony was Majority Floor Leader of the House of Representatives and 1st District Congressman Jose Manuel “Mannix” M. Dalipe, along with the Punong-Barangay of Zone 2, Nonito M. Arañas, Zone 3, Jerry B. Sanson, Zone 4, Ernie S. Tan, and Santa Catalina, Joseph Daniel R. Evangelista.

Representing the ZCWD were its Board of Directors, headed by chairperson Ernesto F. Ubando, Jr., board secretary John Federick F. Ruiz, board members Alan B. Dela Cruz and Eunice S. Dalisay, and General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin.

Attendees then proceeded to the Royce Convention Hall at the Grand Astoria Hotel, where further discussions about the project’s impact and future plans took place. GM Cabilin formally welcomed the guests, followed by Congressman Dalipe, who delivered a speech expressing his gratitude to the ZCWD for its continued mission to provide stable water connections for the people of Zamboanga. This was followed by short messages of gratitude from the Punong-Barangays. Engr. Marli Acosta P. De-Fiesta, Assistant General Manager for the Technical Services Group, delivered the closing remarks.

Once the Mainline Replacement Program is finished, it promises to significantly reduce water losses, enhance water delivery efficiency, and improve the overall quality of life for residents, specifically for Barangays Zone 1 to 4, and Santa Catalina. The project stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit between the local government unit of Zamboanga and the ZCWD, working together to build a more resilient and prosperous community.
