ZCWD PR 023 s. 2024

JULY 24, 2024 – Members of the General Santos City Water District (GSCWD) led by Atty. Judy Lim-Pasman, together with For. Ergie D. Pabon, Ms, Vanne Thea G. Balboa, Ms. Charlyn B. Panunciar, and Mr. Keen Jade Asparin conducted a benchmarking activity on several departments of the ZCWD. This consisted of an orientation on the various functions and operational procedures of the chosen departments, as well as a tour of the Watershed and Intake Facility inside the Pasonanca Natural Park. ZCWD General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin welcomed the GSCWD staff at the ZCWD Board Room before handing the floor over to the department managers who presented their respective departments. Mr. Raul Ruben R. Rivera, Jr., Officer-In-Charge of the Community Relations and External Affairs Section, provided an overview of the communication plans concerning public information regarding the ZCWD, followed by Atty. Ekeena O. Lim, Officer-In-Charge of the Legal Services Division under the Legal Department, who provided an overview of the various legal procedures the ZCWD implements through its services.

The following day, the GSCWD Committee toured the ZCWD Intake Facility and Diversion Weir, located inside the Pasonanca Natural Park. The tour was led by Engr. Valerie Gay P. Yuayan, head of the Environment and Water Resources Department, and Mirasol F. Larete-Kanindot, Division Manager for the Water Resources Management Division. An orientation of the Pasonanca Natural Park was held at the multi-purpose hall at the Banuang Research Outpost, conducted by the ZCWD Foresters together with For. Domiliza B. Campaner, Protected Area Superintendent, who narrated the journey of how the Pasonanca Natural Park was officially declared as the 10th ASEAN Heritage Park.

The ZCWD is grateful to the GSCWD for choosing to benchmark with them and for the opportunity to share some of the many functions the ZCWD performs in serving the people of Zamboanga. The ZCWD looks forward to future collaborations and partnerships with other water districts in the near future.
