August 27, 2024 – The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) proudly awarded the Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ) in recognition of the institution’s outstanding efforts in water demand management across its campuses. Since 2021, UZ has developed and implemented a series of innovative water management systems, including:
1. Sewage Treatment Plant
2. Water Reservoir Pump House
3. Rainwater Harvesting System
4. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
5. Water Purifying Station
6. Water-Efficient Toilet Fixtures
These initiatives have significantly contributed to sustainable water use within the university, benefiting both the institution and the broader community.
ZCWD General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin presented the Plaque of Excellence to UZ President Abram M. Eustaquio during a ceremony held at the ZCWD Board Room. The event was also attended by ZCWD Assistant General Manager for Administration Group Engr. Marli P. Acosta De-Fiesta and for Finance Group Louella A. Aguilera, and members of UZ’s Safety, Health, and Environment Department’s (SHED) Jessica C. Pacio, Kathryn Rose P. Kuan, and Rona Anne Paler.
