August 31, 2024 – The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) held a groundbreaking ceremony for a well exploration project in Barangay Zambowood and a blessing and turn-over ceremony for the 10 cubic-meter water tanker at the ZCWD Old Reservoir in Barangay Pasonanca.
Key attendees included ZCWD Board of Directors Chairperson Ernesto F. Ubando Jr., Secretary John Federick P. Ruiz, Board Member Alan B. Dela Cruz, and ZCWD General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin. Other ZCWD officials present were Assistant General Manager for Technical Services Group Michael Angelo M. Carbon, Operations Group Atty. Mark Allen M. Paredes, Administration Engr. Marli P. Acosta De-Fiesta, and Finance Group’s Louella A. Aguilera.
The event was also attended by local government representatives such as Congressman Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, City Vice-Mayor Josephine “Pinpin” Pareja, and several city councilors: from District 1: Councilor Jerome A. Santos, Councilor Charlie S. Mariano, and from District 2: Councilor Vicente M. Guingona, and the President of the Liga ng Mga Barangay: Councilor Joseph Daniel R. Evangelista.
The well exploration project, located on property owned by Barangay Zambowood Chairperson Richard L. Pajarito, aims to serve 1,000 households by producing up to 1 million liters of water per day.
The newly blessed Isuzu 10-wheeler water tanker, owned by Primewater Infrastructure, will support ZCWD operations, particularly in areas with low water supply and during emergencies. The tanker will begin operations on September 2, 2024.
ZCWD Chairman Ubando and GM Cabilin expressed gratitude for the local government’s support and the cooperation of Kap. Pajarito of Barangay Zambowood and Primewater Infrastructure Corp. in these initiatives.
