September 07, 2024 – With the newly opened Sumidero-Bunguiao Water System, the Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) Commercial Services Department (CSD) together with the Community Relations and External Affairs Section (CREAS) conducted the Orientation Seminar Caravan for New Water Connections at Barangay Bunguiao last Saturday, September 7, at the Bunguiao Elementary School. This session was attended by residents of said barangay who are seeking to apply for water connections under the ZCWD. In his opening speech, Barangay Chairperson Leo E. Ressurrecion expressed his gratitude to the ZCWD for bringing the caravan to Barangay Bunguiao and affirms his commitment in coordinating with ZCWD in establishing water connections for his constituents.
Mr. Sofronio E. Santos, Department Manager for the CSD, led the orientation together with Engr. Roderick H. Concepcion, Officer-In-Charge for the Customer Service Division, Engr. Mary Ann S. Araneta, Supervisor for Service Application Division, Mr. Yusop S. Masdal, Senior Researcher Analyst A under the Legal Department, and CREAS led by Officer-In-Charge Mr. Raul Ruben R. Rivera, Jr. The orientation covered the policies, guidelines, and responsibilities of the person when applying for water connection at ZCWD.
The Orientation Seminar is a required process for residents applying for water connections to the ZCWD. This is normally conducted at the ZCWD Main Office. Through the proactive initiatives of the ZCWD led by its General Manager Reynaldo R. Cabilin, the orientation was brought closer to the communities, making it more convenient for residents of distant barangays like Bunguiao to access essential services. The 380 participants expressed their appreciation for this effort, which reduces the need for long travel and promotes greater engagement with local households.
This initiative forms part of ZCWD’s broader mission to enhance water accessibility across the city, ensuring that every household has a reliable and safe water supply. As more residents complete their applications, Barangay Bunguiao moves one step closer to improved water services, promising better quality of life for its community. The successful seminar marks the beginning of ZCWD’s continued partnership with Barangay Bunguiao, paving the way for future collaboration on essential public services.
